Joseph F. Belton, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away July 12, 2014.  Before retiring in 1984, he worked in various Engineering positions with the Chrysler Corp., General Motors Corp., and the Whirlpool Corp.

Born in Winston-Salem, N.C., he received a B.S. Degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, M.S. Degrees from the Chrysler Institute of Engineering and Michigan State University, and did other graduate work at M.I.T.

Mr. Belton was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  As a fighter pilot in the Air Force during World War II he received the D.F.C. with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Air Medal with eleven Oak Leaf Clusters.  During the Korean War he was an Experimental Test Pilot at Wright-Patterson AFB.

Throughout his life Joe was admired for his broad range of knowledge, subtle humor, and humbleness.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 15th, 2014 at 2 pm at First Friends Meeting, 3030 E Kessler Blvd East Dr., Indianapolis.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
